Fit & Fabric

These clothes are designed for real people. We currently have sizes from size 00 (smaller than the stores' size zero) through size 20 in misses and plus sizes in some styles. Please take your measurements; our sizes may not correspond exactly to those in your favorite store. Our skirts fit smoothly over the hips and feature narrow waistbands, so they are very flattering for all figure types. They do not have side slits, which can look bad from the stage.

We've selected our fabrics for comfort, drape, and washability. They are synthetics, so they will not fade when washed. Musicians tell us that they love wearing them; they're not too hot to perform in, they allow arm movement, they forgive duffel-bag treatment, and our customers can wash the clothes when needed.

Dressy, but feels like you could wear it every day. This jersey has a swishy drape. When you order this fabric in our tops, please allow for a little less stretch than you'd get in our stretch velvet--it has more of a dress-like fit than a t-shirt fit. (You may want to order a slightly larger top, especially if you tend to be between our sizes.) The fabric content is 95% Polyester/5% Spandex. Machine wash and line dry.

No crush marks on our velvet! So comfortable and soft, and yet so elegant onstage. You should be able to perform in this from September through the spring; it's not too hot. Machine wash and line dry.

A beautiful, rather heavy satin, this soft, resilient fabric has a suede-like moleskin finish on the back side. This fabric is very opaque--wearing a slip may be unnecessary. Although pressing the fabric with a cool iron will take out wrinkles, it won't need to be pressed very often; even folded in a suitcase, it doesn't wrinkle easily. Machine wash and line dry.

We've tried to begin with sizes that will be accurate for women who shop for "misses" sized clothing, but many of our customers will be used to "juniors" sizing. Please order carefully. Although we will exchange and/or refund if items don't fit, this costs everyone money.
